- you do that? With the following four steps, you will be able to use data gifting services to share data on MTN.
- The first step is to dial 1233#, a menu will pop up, select 7 to reply.
- Next is that you’ll get a list of options to choose from. With these options, you can transfer data from your data balance, buy for a friend, or even request data from a friend.
- From the options in step two above, you can now choose the option you wish to go for.
- If it’s a friend you want to share data with, then select the amount of data you would like to
- share with the friend either in megabyte(MB) or gigabyte (GB). Note that your friend’s number
- must be an MTN number for you to be able to share data with them.
Data Share (applicable to Postpaid subscribers only)
For MTN Data Share for postpaid subscribers, the following steps to share data are as follows;
- Activate an applicable data plan
- The second is that you text REG to 131 in order to register your Sim for MTN Data Share or dial *131*2*1#. When this is done, you will be sent a security Pin.
- Next is for you to change the Pin from the system generated to your own personal Pin by simply dialing *131*2*5# to do so.
- The fourth step is to add up to five people that you would want to benefit from the MTN shared Data Bundle account by sending a keyword “ADD” to 131 or by dialing *131*2*3# through your USSD menu.
- As soon as you are done adding your five beneficiaries, you will now be able to share data bundle with them by simply sending a keyword text “Share” to 131.
How to Share Data on MTN in Nigeria
Data Share through Hotspot
Another way you can also share your data on MTN is through Hotspot, in fact it is the most common way of sharing data not only on MTN network but also on other telecommunication net work. The following steps will guide you on how to share data through Hotspot.
- Click on settings, on your smartphone.
- Click on “networks and internet” (for some phones) or the “more” section
- Tap on the “Hotspot and Tethering” menu
- Next, tap the “mobile hotspot” to change the Hotspot settings
- You can change the hot spot name to a suitable name of your choosing
- Enable the mobile Hotspot by tapping on the button to turn it on
- Finally, connect the enabled Hotspot to another device to grant them access to your Hotspot.
