Born Rajabu Abdul Kahali on 15th March 1991, the talented singer hails from Mtwara the capital city of Mtwara Region in southeastern Tanzania.

Like many bongo artists, Harmonize came from a humble beginning. During a radio interview last year, he revealed that he would sometimes go to bed hungry as he didn’t have money or a place to sleep. To make ends meet, he would hawk tea in Kariokor market.

Harmonize started his music career in 2011. He records music for his own label Konde Music Worldwide.

In 2015, he met Diamond Platnumz. His first song “Aiyola” was commercially successful. He has since released several hit songs with the East Africa Star.

On February 25, 2019, he released ‘Afro Bongo’. His first EP featuring Diamond Platnumz, Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi and Yemi Alade.

Afro Bongo has four tracks including his major hit Kainama which is a track number one from the EP. Kainama’s music video surfaced over 14 million views in 12 months.

Harmonize recentlydropped his latest offering, an 18-track album titled Afro East, which is the follow-up to his 2019’s EP Afro Bongo.

The album, which is the Tanzanian artist’s first project since leaving Diamond Platnumz’s record label, features Burna Boy, Phyno, Yemi Alade, Mr Eazi, Falz, Skales and several others.

Afro East is another of Harmonize’s projects that showcases his ability to seamlessly fuse Afropop with Singeli and Bongo.
